Hola Sugar cups!!

It’s still fall, but parts of some cities look more like a winter wonderland. My city is indeed one experiencing winter chills around. With slightly chilly mornings and early sunsets, I’ve finally sorted my wardrobe for winter. Fall fashion shows embraced several styles from past and headed up fresh this season. In today’s post I’m going to talk about one such trend – Velvet.

Velvet has been the most sophisticated style trend of years. And as I dunk my toes in as best I can to know how velvet has outdone this winter, I’m surprised to see the trend almost everywhere! Do you remember those velour chokers and strappy stilettoes we saw last fall? Yes, they are nevertheless a hit this season too.

Stirred by velvety fascination, I thought of taking it to next level. This fabric has literally ruled my wedding wardrobe and now is the right time to take those pieces out to walk streets. I pulled out this beautiful red velvet crop top that I tailored for my saree. I layered it with a brown waterfall duster coat and blue denim. It was the last weekend of my cousin and so we just planned a movie. I wore this pretty golden choker necklace that compliments the lace on sleeves. The dramatic balloon sleeves of this pretty velvet top allowed me to uphold other things minimal.

Fashion houses and celebrities are flaunting this trend big time now, I reassure velvet is indeed the next hottest trend to scout. There are brands like Koovs.com and Shein.in who has pretty cool collection in velvet at a really affordable prices. You can even opt out for street shopping (this way, it is more fun, I know, right?).

And of course, with the arrival of colder days, you definitely need to buy and try all the velvet pieces you are seeing and pinning because, you know there is so much more you can do with a velvet slice, no?
