Today’s post is about a diamond iceberg floating on the river water of Hudson – New York City. A city, that connects and make you comfortable in minutes as you start walking through its lanes. New York City’s air makes sleep useless. As a blogger and writer, my most time is spend scouting for secret places, travel outfit hacks, tips & tricks to make each travel experience more than just a trip for my reader family. Here, I’m sharing my most favourite places from the street of NYC that’ll make your trip exceptional.
A wise man once said you’ve not seen all of New York City until you’ve left Manhattan. There are secret places that your travel itinerary won’t ever include. These places are a mix of Hollywood featured spots and my personal findings in the New York City. When I say NYC, how can I overlook Brooklyn & Queens? And my fellas who’re just as foodie as me, take this as a challenge of how many spots you can try while in New York City. From New York style Pizza to Cheesecake from Junior’s, there are no better foods to eat AND Instagram while you’re in the city. Here’s a list of what not to be missed if your next travel destination is New York City.
PS: AirBnB is one of the most trusted network to put your hands on in NYC. Buzzing with number of house options, one is sure to find home at convenient place among four boroughs of the city.
1. New York City’s Museum of ice creams
Say yay to this amazing amazing pop-up exhibition called Museum of Ice Cream. Started in New York City and now sphering to San Francisco, the art instalments are super cute and fun to be clicked. However, purchasing a ticket to this fantastic place is challenging. There is a virtual cue and the slot is open just for 15 minutes on their website, so be sure you set yourself before it’s active. Who doesn’t like sprinkles on ice cream and now imagine there’s a pool full of sprinkles? I couldn’t stop myself to hop in these millions of custom-designed sprinkles. Each room has a different dimension. Come here if you want to dance, swing and eat a lot of ice creams!
Okay, I can’t stop talking about this chic and yet another modern Indian restaurant – Rahi. Owned by Roni Mazumdar, this place has my heart instantly when I see mango lassi with rum. The man calls his very restaurant an ‘artisanal Indian restaurant’ since it slightly strays from the traditional Indian cuisine and uses local New York City produce.
3. New York City’s The Famous Colour Factory
Another interactive exhibit of New York City is filled with colours, desserts and picture-perfect spot. Each room is different and has all local artist’s mind-blowing work installed. There’s a discotheque in one room and you can play the xylophones in the next room, and then jump into the ball pit in the room after! 16 colour spanking rooms will leave you in glee. Trust me, this place is just so much more than a ‘gram bait. After all, who doesn’t like to lay on back and spin on a technicolour table?
4. New York City’s Pietro Nolita
After all the city strolling, you would need a place to sit for a nice coffee. Hang in at Pietro Nolita for all your sit and sip session. The all-pink interior of this coffee shop brightens the mood and makes a perfect spot to chill in the afternoon. There is a range of options to select from its menu. Though, I swear by vanilla bean latte mocha, anytime. You can also plan your brunch to dinner here.
5. New York City’s Procell
Like other A-line celebrities, Procell sells his rare vintage stashes in his shop 5 Delancey Street. Shopping and New York city is synced. Find everything from elite Parisian houses to shop from to emerging new skate-rat brands, the idea is to help us find fashion that speaks our personality.
6. NoMo SoHo
If you follow major New York-based bloggers, you may have seen this stunning place called NoMo SoHo – Nostalgic and Modern. Such a fab place it is! A 2 –minute walk from the Canal substation, this high-rise hotel has floor-to-ceiling windows with city views. Staying at this beautiful hotel has all that fairy-tale vibes in downtown New York. I can call NoMo SoHo a romantic place to hang in when here.
7. New York City’s 230 Fifth Ave
Serve yourself at one the most delicious food of the city in the midtown. Brunch is served on a rooftop that is mesmerizingly dotted with adorable igloos. Head up there, sit inside an igloo and relax or sit & chat with your friends and take fresh city air. Oh, the restaurant provides you with blankets and robes to help you keep warm if it’s too cold outside. The thought of having pancake in winter with a rooftop view, inside an igloo is just sooo satiating.
8. Flatiron, Manhattan
Flatiron is a wonderland of home design and décor stores. There’s this ABC Carpet & Home; a six sprawling floors of upscale furniture, décor and fabulous carpets. Fifth Avenue is indeed great for high-end designers, but there’s a whole slew of cool and quirky boutiques and hometown-based outlets that shouldn’t be passed over.
So these were some of my favourite spots in New York City. Make the most of your trip and let me know what according to you I should have not missed.
