There is just so much about India that you can’t stop falling in love with. With a multitude of traditions, each season has a story to tell. Summer springs in and in my today’s post I’m going to emphasis on one of this season’s chicest trend – Ethnic Jackets. Summer ethnic has always been a saga for fashion designers. With pastel colors and sunshine bright colors, we’ve seen a much globally ethnic demarcation this year. The ‘ethnic jacket’ is one such perky trend. We’ve seen and prized the ethnic jacket since last two seasons, but this time there is a secret story to unfold.
Vivid colors, gorgeous embroideries, eccentric patchwork and embellishment is what we grasp this Summer. The long-line ethnic jackets come in assorted fabrics; semi-cotton jacket, fabric net jacket and georgette jackets. You don’t really need to invest in a new ethnic jacket if you are comfortable with basic cutting and sewing. I saved on this beautiful ice-blue net ethnic jacket by DIY-ing it from an old anarkali dress. There is this thing about ethnic jackets that they can be styled with anything! By anything I mean – you can shrug it over a basic top and pant to create an indo-western look or you can go for a bff’s-wedding-appropriate-look by wearing it under an embellished bustier top and lehenga.
In my look one, I’m wearing my ice-blue net ethnic jacket with a black turtle-neck top and navy-blue denim jeans. For me, layering has to be something that add up the quirk quotient and I really don’t see any way other than teaming this pretty pastel net jacket with my casual for a more Summer chic look. I choose to keep my hair open and go with just a foundation and lipstick. You can do go a step further and do a beautiful hair-do too! For my second look which is a not-so-basic and a perfect bridesmaid outfit inspiration, I wore this lovely blue ethnic jacket with a nude bustier top and blue lehenga.
Let me know what do you think of this super summer trend and how you will be going to style it. I’d love to see what you come up with! Follow me on Instagram (rawandtoasted) and Twitter (@rawandtoasted) for fashion, lifestyle and homestyle ideas and inspiration.
