Hola Sugar cups!
February is definitely a month of love. With spring rolling in, the climate calls for a rotation in outfit assortment. I have a list of the hottest spring trends on my radar but for today, let’s talk about one trend that I NEVER thought I’d try or even talk – Cage Dress. Cage Dress trend comes from 60s and this one retro trend is making a stunning comeback. Being ignorant of this epic style, I once started looking at cage dress as a challenge but gradually (with 2018) I’ve learned how to love this trend and I really want all of you to try this very versatile style.
Dressing up is all about exposing a little skin and evading too much layering. One of the perfect sexy solutions for a spring date is the cage dress. I bought this Koovs Red Cage Dress that has a sexy bodycon fit and a midi length, full sleeves and a cage details on the neck. While I was looking for one LBD to add to my wardrobe, this cage dress peaked my interest since it is a much stronger, bolder way of showing skin. The caged look is also an eccentric trend as it can be sported all over, remember Alexander Wang style, on part of the dress?
Cage Dress: One Dress, Two Ways
I attempted to create two looks with this cage dress. In the first look, I went all out setting in for brave and sensual style by knotting my hair up, bold red lips and statement lion & pearl drop earrings. I’m usually an athleisure person, however, this look is fierce and strong. When rocking a cage dress, it’s customarily best to keep the rest of the look simpler. The main idea is to bring the focus to the right place. The neckline of this dress is absolutely my favorite part! The pseudo choker neck is enclosed with the stripe across it. It’s flattering and moderate without being uninteresting.
In the second look, I opted for layering. When the temperature drops low in the late evening, a turtleneck is a quick fashion rescue. I wore this grey turtleneck crop top beneath that will help me slay the icy airstream. Cage dress asks for some serious selection of handbag/purse. Avoid sling bag and opt for a clutch bag. For footwear, one can go never go wrong with pump heels or stilettos. Cage dress is an answer to women with shorter height. They withdraw the attention upwards with its details and your BFF heels do the best magic. With this style, just be bold! Show off the look and just rule with it!
Cage dress is very appealing to all body types and one should know how to carry this style smartly. Let me know what do you think of the above two looks.
